Storytelling and dramatised tours for young children

Discover the storytelling tours of the Cluny Museum of Art and Archaeology

As part of the Semaine Nationale de la Petite Enfance (National Week for Young Children), the Musée d'art et d'archéologie de Cluny is offering free storytelling tours adapted for toddlers: real or imaginary animals, true stories or legends, introduce your children to the teeming world of craftsmen in the Middle Ages.

Discovery workshop for toddlers

Introduce your children to the first concepts of architecture in a fun way

As part of the Semaine Nationale de la Petite Enfance (National Week for Young Children), take part in our workshop designed for little hands and big ideas: inspired by the monument and using a variety of construction games, they can build their ideal abbey and become real little architects.

The Museum of Art and Archaeology, renowned for its exceptional collections of sculptures from the monastic town and the Abbey of Cluny, also houses a wide range of other collections in its reserves.

Guided tour

Immerse your pupils in Cluniac heritage

Through a fun, interactive tour that engages all five senses, pupils can immerse themselves in the daily lives of monks, the workings of a medieval abbey, and the organisation and challenges of the different areas of a monastery. This active approach encourages observation, curiosity and an understanding of ways of life in the Middle Ages, in line with the history syllabus.

To coincide with this event organised by the CAUE (Conseils d'architecture, d'urbanisme et de l'environnement), we are offering free access to this activity, which, at the start of the school year, provides an opportunity to enrich classroom learning with a sensitive approach to heritage.

The abbey's medieval Farinier opens its doors to the Cité de l'architecture & du patrimoine for a brand new exhibition 

Spotlight on heritage and those involved in it! Discover what it's like to work in the field of built heritage, and in particular to be an architecte des bâtiments de France, through examples of restoration work carried out in Burgundy-Franche-Comté! Their analyses reveal the full complexity of the site, illustrated by magnificent plates of drawings recreating the architectural richness being studied.

This photographic exhibition gives a glimpse of these wooden, brick, metal and concrete roofs, spaces that are largely inaccessible to the public, but often more spectacular than you might think.
